  • At this time, Sterling Studios ships merchandise to locations within the United States and U.S. territories, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands. The risk of loss and title for all merchandise ordered on this Web site pass to you when the merchandise is delivered to the shipping carrier.

    Free Shipping Restrictions:  free shipping is for U.S. Postal Service First Class rate only, and does not apply to wholesale orders. $2.75 U.S. Postal Service fee for insurance coverage will be added to each shipment



  • International

  • Customs and import duties may be applied to International orders when the shipment reaches its destination. Such charges are the responsibility of the recipient of your order and vary from country to country. Contact your local customs office for details.

    Shipping laws are different in each country. It is your responsibility to check with your Customs office to verify whether the country to which you are shipping permits the shipment of your products. Sterling Studios is not responsible for any direct, indirect, punitive, or consequential damages that arise from improper international shipping practices.

    At this time, Sterling Studios ships to the following international destinations:

    Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.

    These are currently the countries that allow importation of jewelry.  This list may change due to changes in law of exporting or importing country.



  • Sales Tax

  • Sterling Studios charges sales tax for merchandise ordered on this Web site based on the applicable state sales tax rate and the location to which the order is being shipped.

    Sterling Studios cannot be held responsible for damages/loss/theft in transit. Orders over $100 are insured at no additional cost to you.

    If you are not happy with your purchase, you may return it according to the following:

    REQUIRED FOR REFUND:
    --You must contact Sterling Studios before returning any item(s).
    --The item(s) must be returned within 7 days of the original delivery date.
    --The item(s) must be in original condition.
    --The item(s) must be in original packaging.
    --The item(s) must be sent via USPS/delivery confirmation/insured for the full purchase price.
    --You must send the delivery confirmation number via email.
    --Once the return is received in resalable condition, a refund will be issued using the same payment method used for the purchase.
    --Any fee for sizing or otherwise customizing an item will not be refunded.

    Additional Policies and FAQs

    REPAIRS:
    One of the reasons I started making jewelry was that it really made me unhappy when a favorite piece fell apart on me! I therefore make every effort to go the extra mile to ensure the jewelry I create will last a very long time. Should you need repairs on any jewelry you purchase from Sterling Studios, please let me know! The following will apply:
    --Repairs required due to my craftsmanship (such as a chain mail weave) will usually be provided free of charge.
    --For 60 days, I will also repair any failed component (such as clasps, chains, ear wires, etc.) After 60 days, I will charge a fee for the replacement of the component. Please note that not all components are easy to replace; in some cases the repair may be made with a similar component.
    --Shipping charges will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

    You may purchase merchandise from this Web site by using any one of the payment options listed in (link to Payment Options). Sterling Studios reserves the right to change its payment procedures at any time without prior notice to you.



  • Miscellaneous

  • CARING FOR YOUR Sterling Studios JEWELRY:
    Sterling Silver (and most other metals) will tarnish over time. This is a case where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Don't wear your jewelry while doing the dishes or cleaning. Put on your jewelry AFTER applying cosmetics/perfume. To further slow the tarnish tendency, wipe your piece with a soft dry cloth each time you take it off, then store it in an airtight plastic bag. The plastic bag your jewelry shipped in is heavier than most--I highly recommend using it! Beginning in 2011, each piece of jewelry will ship with a 3M anti-tarnish tab. Keep this with your jewelry in the plastic zip lock bag, and your jewelry item should stay tarnish free for up to one year. Moisture is the number one tarnish accelerator.

    When (yes--when, not if) your piece does need polishing, I recommend using a Sunshine Polishing Cloth followed by a 'bath' in Dawn Dish Washing Liquid (the original blue-colored formula).

    Finally, a more expensive but really effective option is an Ionic Jewelry Cleaners (not to be confused with the "ultrasonic" cleaners that have been around a while and do not work well to remove tarnish). There's a mini version (just do a search on Mini Speed Brite) that I've seen for around $65.00. They really are a newer technology--be sure to read directions for use carefully. According to a well-known jewelry supplier, they are even safe for pearls, opals, and turquoise (use on these at your own risk).

    WHOLESALE: I do offer wholesale pricing to retail establishments. Requirements for wholesale are as follows:

    • You must provide a copy of your resale tax certificate.
    • You must provide proof that you have a retail storefront (i.e., not an online only store). This can be in the form of a picture with retail sign that matches the company name on your resale tax certificate.

    Free shipping promotions generally do not apply to wholesale orders.

    VOID WHERE PROHIBITED:
